Our Standards
Editorial Policy
Aslan Health, LLC exists to help people steward their health with wisdom and clarity. Your health decisions are important, so we hold our content to a clear standard: accurate, honestly sourced, and plainly labeled. This policy explains how the Aslan Health newsletter, podcast, website, and downloadable guides are created.

Who creates our content
All Aslan Health content is written or presented by Dr. Mike Hauman, founder of Aslan Health. Dr. Hauman is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine licensed in Ohio, board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine, a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner (Functional Medicine University), and a Certified Insight Coach Practitioner, with more than 35 years of clinical experience. Read more about his background on the About page.
How we use sources
We base health claims on the strongest evidence available. In order of preference, that means systematic reviews and meta-analyses, randomized controlled trials, guidelines from major medical and public-health bodies, and other peer-reviewed research. We:
- distinguish association from causation, and a biological mechanism from a proven outcome;
- describe the size and certainty of an effect honestly;
- say so when evidence is preliminary, comes from animal studies, or is contested;
- say so when something is not yet known or confirmed;
- cite only sources we have checked against the original publication.
Our downloadable guides list full citations for the claims they make.
Published evidence and clinical experience are labeled separately
Where we discuss supplements, we separate two kinds of information. "Published evidence" summarizes what the research shows. "Clinical experience (observation)" describes what Dr. Hauman has observed in practice and in caring for people. Observation is valuable, but it is not proof, and we never present it as research.
Faith and science
Aslan Health is written from a nondenominational Christian perspective. We typically quote Scripture from the English Standard Version (ESV); Scripture spoken on the podcast is presented as spoken and may not include a complete quotation or full citation. We do not use Scripture as evidence for a medical claim, and we do not use medicine to prove Scripture. Our Statement of Faith is available on this site.
How we use AI tools
Aslan Health uses AI tools to assist with research, drafting, editing, and fact-checking. These tools do not decide what we recommend. Dr. Hauman reviews, edits, and approves every word, claim, and document before publication; sources are checked against the original publications, and the clinical observations shared are his own.
Money and independence
Aslan Health may earn a commission on some products we link to, including purchases through our Fullscript dispensary and through our affiliate partners. Wherever such a link appears, a disclosure appears with it. Commissions do not change what is recommended, and your price is the same either way.
Newsletter emails may include advertisements placed through beehiiv's advertising network. Advertisers have no input into our content.
We do not accept payment to cover a topic, feature a product, or review a product favorably.
Reviews shown on our site are real and attributed to their source. We do not invent testimonials.
Education, not individual medical advice
Our content is educational only. It does not create a physician-patient relationship and is not a substitute for individualized care from your own clinician. Talk with your physician or pharmacist before starting any supplement. See our Medical Disclaimer for details.
Corrections and updates
If we get something wrong, we fix it. You can report an error to dr@aslanhealth.com.
We correct substantive errors in published content as soon as they are identified. In podcast transcripts, spoken words remain as spoken, and we add a written correction beside any factual error.
Some pages display an automatically generated transcript. These are machine-generated outputs and not under our control; they are not edited and may contain errors. Where a corrected transcript is available, it appears in the episode notes.
Content reflects the evidence at the time of publication, and publication dates are shown where applicable. When we learn that the evidence on a topic has materially changed, we revise or annotate the affected content.
